Bastet Art Project

This was another project for art. I had to research a god or goddess from ancient Egypt and I thought, hey since most of the gods were technically anthros this should be easy! It was, mostly. I didn't struggle with the structure of her body as much as I thought I would, but I did have to use a friend as a model. The feet were difficult too. I also think I made her torso a bit too long, yeah?
Anyway what the assignment was we had to draw our god or goddess and I chose Bastet, the goddess of cats. I decided to make her completely covered in fur instead of the traditional woman with a cat head. We also had to draw things that represented them. The staff thing is my own depiction of the staff she holds. She's holding in her raised paw a few egyption symbols (who's names escape me) and she was known as Ra, the sun gods protector, so I added the sun. Also when the greeks adopted her as one of their own (minor) gods, she became a goddess of the moon (at least according to my research [also I don't think she was that way for long])
